About
The Dog Days Blanket is an ultra-customizable throw pattern themed around your favorite dog breeds! There are 8 different dog silhouettes you can mix and match, alongside 4 different dividers.
This pattern is also beginner-friendly, with step-by-step photos for every single part of the pattern.
My third blanket design is here! I am thrilled about this one; I wanted to make a dog-themed pattern after the success of the Cat Nap Blanket, and when Lion Brand asked for a kit, I couldn’t refuse! I am so thrilled to share this one with you all, and can’t WAIT to see what you dream up with this pattern.
Sizing
The standard blanket width is 43” (109cm). There is no standard blanket length, since the charts you choose will determine how long your blanket will be.
Materials
Hook: 5mm or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions:
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Yarn: Worsted/aran/size 4; approx 2500-4000 yds needed, depending on size
I used acrylics like Lion Brand Pound of Love, Vanna’s Choice, and Color Theory to make this. I recommend using a similar acrylic or wool for your own project; you can find good substitutes on yarnsub.com.
Always make a swatch before beginning to make sure you meet gauge (also important so your pattern isn’t too big or too small) and are happy with the fabric created!
Gauge
Note: Gauge is not super important for this project, but knowing if your tension is similar to mine will help you figure out if you’ll need more or less yarn than what I have listed.
4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm) = 17 sts and 9.5 rows in double crochet
If your swatch is too small, try using a bigger hook. If it's too big, try using a smaller hook.
